We had a very successful day, we raised £136, made many more people aware of One in Four and had lots of fun.
We were very close to the dance arena and we literally had people dancing their way around the stalls, it’s impossible not to join in so we were often to be seen dancing as well! All the prizes were donated, some from big names like Homebase who gave us £20 worth of plants but many more from smaller shops and business. From the parade of shops adjacent to our premises – Charmaine from the hair and beauty saloon donated a wash and blow dry, Siobian who also works from Charmaines came to the festival and donated 3 15 minute beauty treatments that went down very well. Andreas, the boutique that sells designer dresses and ball gowns donated a lovely picture frame and a matching necklace and bracelet. Mrs Patel from SK News gave us a tin of biscuits with an Olympian theme. Raymond of The Sunflowers Florists gave us a lovely fern and wrapped it as well. Lastly, Andrew from Bromley Road Fish shop gave us 5 vouchers for £3.50 – 3 of which blew away in a sudden gust of high wind and were never found!
We also had many individuals who donated, one of the supporters mum donated the designer sunglassess and the pretty rings that many people tried many times to win. Linda paid the £28 it cost to buy all the bottles of washing liquid and conditioner that everyone was happy to win. More than one of our supporters who couldn’t be there gave us lots of other nice prizes for people to win.
